Want to use HSA funds to cover massage therapy next year?

Here's what you need to know:

  • right now we are getting ready for open enrollment for insurance plans for 2025

  • if your plan includes an HSA account, check it to see if it covers massage therapy, and under what circumstances

  • generally, massage therapy won't be covered by HSA for stress reduction, BUT it will be covered for pain reduction, sometimes you'll need a letter from your primary care provider or maternity care provider to be reimbursed by your HSA plan

  • for Louisville Prenatal Massage specifically, sometimes your HSA can be used at the time of service, and for others, you'll need to seek reimbursement after using another method of payment

So, if you're planning to include massage therapy to reduce pain during pregnancy next year, or reduce pain linked to a chronic pain condition such as fibromyalgia or chronic migraine, you can plan ahead and include funds in your HSA to cover this benefit!
